- What if my Read With Me DVD player's remote control does not have all of the buttons needed for the programming process? Consult with your Read With Me instruction manual. You will need to program your Read With Me controller using method 2 - using manufacture codes, or method 3 - manual search.

What if all of the buttons do not light up properly on my Read With Me during the test procedure?
You must restart the programming process. Follow the steps below to begin:
- Shut off your DVD player.
- Remove the cover from the controller to begin audio prompts.
- Begin programming.
- Once programming procedure has been completed, move forward to retest the controller.

Why is my DVD player not responding to my Read With Me™ controller?
If your DVD player is not responding to your Read With Me™ controller please try the following:
- Make sure you have setup Read With Me™ controller correctly. The quick setup sheet can be found at www.service.fisher-price.com and the latest list of codes can be found at www.service.fisher-price.com
- Try moving your Read With Me™ controller closer to the TV.
- Replace the batteries on your Read With Me™ controller.
- Make sure your Read With Me™ controller is pointed directly at your DVD player.
- Always be sure your hand and the activity card are not covering the red window on the front of the Read With Me™ controller when pressing a button to respond to an activity.
- Make sure there are no large objects between your Read With Me™ controller and your DVD player. Large objects can block the signal between your controller and DVD player.
- Double check that the 3-position memory switch on the underside of your Read With Me™ controller is in the proper position. Refer to your Read With Me™ User’s Manual for instructions on how to use the 3-position memory switch.

I am having trouble setting up my Read With Me™ controller.

If you have followed the instructions on the quick setup sheet and your Read With Me ™ controller is still not working with your DVD player, try the setup again from the beginning.

It is possible that one of the signals did not register when pressed on your DVD player’s remote.

When pressing the numbers on your DVD remote be sure to wait for the audio prompt to finish and the LED on the Read With Me™ controller turns on.

Try each of the codes listed under "ALL MODELS" for your DVD player's manufacturer until you find one that can work properly for all shapes on the test screen and both the skip ahead and skip back on the Read With Me™ controller.

- How can I replay or skip sections of a Read With Me game? The page forward and page backward arrow buttons on your Read With Me™ controller can be used to skip a game or to return to a previous section of a game.
- I use my Read With Me™ controller on several DVD players. Do I need to setup my Read With Me™ controller each time I switch to another DVD player? You only need to setup your Read With Me™ controller one time per DVD player. Your Read With Me™ controller can setup to be played with up to 3 different DVD players. There is a 3-position memory switch on the underside of your Read With Me™ controller. Each position of the switch can be programmed to a different DVD player. Refer to your Read With Me™ User’s Manual for instructions on how to use the 3-position memory switch.
- I purchased a Fisher-Price Read With Me™ separately sold software title. Do I need to setup my Read With Me™ controller again? No. The setup of your controller is only required one time for each DVD player with which you are using your Read With Me™ controller. If you have correctly setup your controller with the software that was included with your Read With Me™ controller, the controller should work with the separately sold software titles.
- Can I pause the Read With Me™ DVD during play? Yes. You can pause Read With Me™ at any time using the pause button on the Read With Me™ controller or the remote control that came with your DVD player.

What if during the Read With Me™ set up process I press the wrong button on my DVD remote?
Follow the steps below to reset the Read With Me™ controller and restart the programming process:
- Place the face plate back on the Read With Me™ remote briefly.
- Press any single button and remove the cover.
- This will restart the set up mode and the remote will prompt you to "place DVD remote in front of the Read With Me™ remote".
- I do not have an "enter" button on my DVD remote. How do I complete the set up process (method) for my Read With Me? The enter button on your DVD remote may also be called select, set, return, etc.

What are the best kind of batteries to use in Fisher-Price® and Mattel® products?
A. We recommend using alkaline batteries with our products, as they are great for long-term use and help optimize performance. We don't recommend using Carbon-Zinc batteries. While Carbon-Zinc batteries may work well with low-power devices, they can drain after a short period of time and cause certain products to not function properly.
