The engines and track from Thomas Trackmaster, Take 'n Play/Adventures, Wooden Railway, and Geotrax products are NOT compatible with each other.

As released publicly in Mattel’s 2012 Corporate Citizenship Report, Mattel is committed to advancing the use of sustainably-sourced paper and wood fiber in our packaging and products.  Mattel continues to work to roll this out across our packaging, products and business.  Mattel will continue to work to align wood products with the principles.

We use beech and medium density fiberboard (engineered wood product) for our Thomas Wooden Railway products.

Some vehicles with tall profiles or special large cargo may not fit under the bridges or through tunnels.  

The Thomas Wooden Railway straight track pieces are measured for the distance between the flat edges.  The connector tabs are not included in the measurements. 

There are also railroad ties etched on each piece that are spaced an inch apart.  The consumer can count how many sets of “lines” or ties there are on the piece to determine the length, without including the connector.

Fisher-Price takes great pride in the Wooden Railway line of products and accessories that we produce and quality is very important to us. We thought it would be helpful to let you know that we include a small amount of plastic on some of our wooden products to further ensure their improved strength.

A.    We recommend using alkaline batteries with our products, as they are great for long-term use and help optimize performance. We don't recommend using Carbon-Zinc batteries. While Carbon-Zinc batteries may work well with low-power devices, they can drain after a short period of time and cause certain products to not function properly.
