1. Tether Strap—This additional belt attaches the car seat directly to the steel frame of your vehicle and reduces the forward motion of your child in an accident, significantly reducing the potential for injury.
2. Five-Point Harness—A "preferred" way to restrain your child, providing better containment in an accident. Also, the wider belts more gently distribute the force of a crash. Also features an easy-to-use two-part chest clip.
3. Steel Frame Construction—Adds greater strength and durability than car seats with plastic frames, providing more protection for your child and peace of mind for you.
4. Energy-Absorbing Foam—Lines the shell of the seat, surrounding your child with an extra layer of protection.
5. Built-In Locking Clips—Make it easier and more convenient to firmly secure the car seat in your vehicle.
6. Color-Coded Installation—Harness slots, vehicle belt paths and recline positions are color coded blue for infant positions and burgundy for toddler, making it easier for you to correctly secure your child every time.
7. Safer Fit In Your Vehicle—Contoured seat base and vehicle belt routes are specially designed for a safer, more secure fit in virtually all vehicles.
- Birth to 1 year, 6 to 30 lbs. (3 to 14 kg) in the rear-facing position.
- 1 year & up, 22 to 40 lbs. (10 to 18 kg) in the forward-facing position.
- NEVER place a rear-facing child seat on a front seat with a passenger-side air bag.
- Meets Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 213 and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) J1819 for child restraint systems, and is certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft.

Are Fisher-Price car seats approved for use in airplanes?
Any car seat model that is less than 10 years old and is certified for use on airplanes (as found in our instructions) may be installed in aircraft seats that face forward.
Before taking the car seat to the airport, we recommend that you notify the airline of your intent to bring this car seat on board. The airline may have restrictions regarding its use, and you may need to lift the armrest out of the way to provide added room for the car seat. Check with the airline to be sure your car seat will fit in the aircraft seat.
The Safe Embrace Booster Seat is not approved for use on airplanes.
- What should I do if my car seat has been involved in a crash? We recommend that you replace your car seat if it has been involved in an accident. An accident can cause damage to the car seat that cannot be seen. When you replace your car seat, make sure that it can no longer be used by another child by disposing of it properly.

Is it safe to use a previously owned Fisher-Price car seat?
Before purchasing or borrowing a previously owned Fisher-Price Car Seat, we recommend that you call us at 1-800-432-KIDS. Our trained representatives can determine if the car seat was involved in any modification or recall programs.
Fisher-Price recommends that child restraints be replaced after eight years to provide the best assurance that the child restraint: is in reliable working conditions; is well suited for use in constantly changing automobile interior design; and is reasonably current in relation to Federal regulations.

Why isn't Fisher-Price making Car Seats any longer?
As of May 2001, Fisher-Price discontinued further development and production of its entire car seat product line. This decision was made in line with the business objectives of the Corporation. Of course, Fisher-Price will continue to service our Fisher-Price car seat owners who have questions or need assistance.

Having exited the car seat business, the redeployment of resources has allowed Fisher-Price to launch a new line of products called baby gear.
