Safe Embrace™ Convertible Car Seat
Product Desciption:
Patent Pending Steel Frame Construction - The Safe Embrace Convertible Car Seat has a steel frame that provides greater strength and durability than car seats with all-plastic frames, resulting in greater protection for your child.
Five-Point Harness - To provide your child with the best protection through infancy and into the toddler years, safety experts recommend the five-point harness. It uses five belts to hold your child securely in place, which provide better containment in an accident - especially for infants. Energy-Absorbing Foam - We've lined the shell of the Safe Embrace Convertible Car Seat with energy-absorbing foam to surround your child with an extra layer of protection.
Built-In Locking Clips - Depending on the type of belts in your vehicle, you may need a locking clip in order to tighten the belts and hold your car seat securely in place. Separate locking clips, however, are often difficult to install and easy to lose. That's why we've built them right into the Safe Embrace Convertible Car Seat, making it much easier and more convenient to firmly secure your car seat in your vehicle. Color-Coded Installation - In order for a car seat to perform properly, it's critical that all of the belts are routed and positioned correctly. To make it easier for you to do this right every time, we've color coded the harness slots, vehicle belt paths, and seating positions on the Safe Embrace Convertible Car Seat. Follow blue for infant settings and burgundy for toddler. Safer Fit In Your Vehicle - Not all car seats are compatible with all models of vehicles. It's important to make sure your car seat fits securely and snugly in your vehicle so it can provide adequate protection in a crash. The Safe Embrace Convertible Car Seat has a contoured base and belt-routing system designed for a secure fit in virtually all vehicles. Tether Strap Attachment - Reducing forward motion is key to reducing injuries in a crash. A tether strap is an additional belt anchoring the car seat directly to the frame of your vehicle. In a crash, the tether strap reduces forward motion of your child's head and significantly decreases the potential for injury. Meets Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 213 for child restraint systems and is certified for use in aircraft. The safety features of this Fisher-Price® car seat will reduce the risk of injury to your child in an accident; however, no car seat can prevent serious injury or death in all accidents.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Are Fisher-Price car seats approved for use in airplanes?
Any car seat model that is less than 10 years old and is certified for use on airplanes (as found in our instructions) may be installed in aircraft seats that face forward.
Before taking the car seat to the airport, we recommend that you notify the airline of your intent to bring this car seat on board. The airline may have restrictions regarding its use, and you may need to lift the armrest out of the way to provide added room for the car seat. Check with the airline to be sure your car seat will fit in the aircraft seat.
The Safe Embrace Booster Seat is not approved for use on airplanes.
- What should I do if my car seat has been involved in a crash? We recommend that you replace your car seat if it has been involved in an accident. An accident can cause damage to the car seat that cannot be seen. When you replace your car seat, make sure that it can no longer be used by another child by disposing of it properly.
-
Is it safe to use a previously owned Fisher-Price car seat?
Before purchasing or borrowing a previously owned Fisher-Price Car Seat, we recommend that you call us at 1-800-432-KIDS. Our trained representatives can determine if the car seat was involved in any modification or recall programs.
Fisher-Price recommends that child restraints be replaced after eight years to provide the best assurance that the child restraint: is in reliable working conditions; is well suited for use in constantly changing automobile interior design; and is reasonably current in relation to Federal regulations.

Why isn't Fisher-Price making Car Seats any longer?
As of May 2001, Fisher-Price discontinued further development and production of its entire car seat product line. This decision was made in line with the business objectives of the Corporation. Of course, Fisher-Price will continue to service our Fisher-Price car seat owners who have questions or need assistance.
Fisher-Price is committed to being a significant brand in the juvenile products category. Having exited the car seat business, the redeployment of resources has allowed Fisher-Price to launch a new line of products called baby gear. This new product line is bringing innovation and superior quality to products such as baby swings, high chairs, bouncy seats, nursery monitors, and more. You can see these products at www.fisher-price.com.
- What standards do Car Seats, models #79013 and #79014, conform to? This child restraint system conforms to all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) J1819 for child restraint systems and is certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft.
