Hot Wheels cars can be difficult to find at retail stores, why doesn’t Mattel sell them directly to consumers?
In the last few years we have seen a tremendous increase in the number of people interested in collecting Hot Wheels cars. Among collectors, some cars are more popular than others, which can make them more difficult to find. As a manufacturer, Mattel does not operate a complete customer sales department so our products are sold primarily through retail stores.
